Orthopaedic Bracing

Custom-fit orthopaedic bracing is available to accommodate back, neck, foot, ankle, knee, wrist and fingers.

Compression Stockings/Support Wear

Great Lakes Home Healthcare Services offers JOBST©, Juzo© and other brands of Support Wear to help improve circulation, reduce mild swelling and provide relief from tired, aching legs. Gradient compression helps by applying the greatest pressure at the ankle and gradually diminishing this pressure up the leg to enhance circulation which is the key to maintaining good vascular health.

Diabetes Shoes

High quality and properly fitting footwear is especially important to protect and comfort your feet if you have special conditions like diabetes, arthritis or other orthopaedic problems. We feature therapeutic shoes by Oasis in a variety of styles, sizes and colors for both men and women. We also carry brands such as Drew and Aetrex. These shoes are available in double-depth and with multi-density inserts.

Remember, if you have diabetes, Medicare and other insurances may cover the cost of therapeutic shoes.

Post-Breast Surgery Forms and Apparel

Pre-Op Consultation

Pre-op visits are available to women prior to their pending mastectomy surgery. Visits prior to surgery can be very helpful for women who are concerned about their appearance following surgery and want to educate themselves on the many prosthetic options available to them. Choices do not have to be made at that time, but information will be given about the various products to help in the decision-making process.

Product Options

Many products are available to help women feel more comfortable with their bodies following mastectomy surgery. This can begin in the hospital immediately following surgery. Women have the option of wearing a camisole or temporary breast form. These are soft undershirt style garments with soft breast forms. These can be worn until the surgical site is healed and a permanent breast form and bra can be worn. The temporary forms may or may not be covered by insurance.

After healing has occurred, other products available include:

  • Silicone breast forms
  • Mastectomy and lumpectomy forms
  • Post-mastectomy bras and apparel

Permanent breast forms and specialized bras are usually covered by Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs and other private insurances, but there may be some limitations.

Post-Surgery Fitting

Your surgeon will give you guidance for when you are able to be fitted with a more permanent breast form. If you attended a pre-op consultation session, you may already know the options available to you and you may have selected your preference. At the post-surgical fitting, you will again review the options, make your selection and be measured for the appropriate fit.
