The more you know, the better you can manage your diabetes. Diabetes Institute offers you this power through education sessions. Education costs are covered by most insurances.* Our nurses and dietitians are certified diabetes educators (CDE). They offer edcuation for a person newly diagnosed with diabetes or just need a refresher course. Some of our class topics include:
Overview of diabetes
Insulin administration and medications
Nutrition and meal planning
Behavior modification and stress management
Foot and eye care
Monitoring and patterning of blood glucose
Education for gestational diabetes available as needed
A prescription for education is required. *Depending on your insurance, you will be responsible for deductible or co-pays.
